Passionate about slaying Anxiety
Firstly, let me introduce myself. My name is Leianne, but you can call me Lil. Author of the FaceBook page, Living With Panic, and more recently a private members group of the same name.
It all started a long time ago - way back when I was a little girl according to my therapist.
I’ve suffered with anxiety and panic for as long as I have memory and its not been pleasant as you can imagine. Mainly health anxiety. I’d get a headache and convince myself it would be something much more sinister. I’d get palpitations and be constantly checking my pulse in utter fear that I was about to keel over with a cardiac malfunction. I’ve had test after test which all tell the doc that actually, everything is normal and I CAN go to bed safe in the knowledge that I most definitely WILL wake up in the morning! Sound about right?
Of course, there are lots more manifestations of anxiety which I have also succumbed to. I will go into that in more detail further into this blog. Thankfully I have mastered the art of slaying anxiety for the most part! Anxiety is an umbrella. There are so many elements, triggers and symptoms that we couldn't possibly know how to handle all at once. Rome wasn't built in a day, as they say! Sure, I still have off days, who doesn't? But I'm doing OK.
I'd like to offer some genuine insights from an anxiety veteran in the form of this blog. My intention is to share with you inspirational and (sometimes) funny info that will make you feel that you are not alone and hopefully make you feel better! The types of things I will be writing about will vary, but trust me, I have an ever growing list of subjects, things like OCD, Trichotillomania, self-esteem, low confidence, self-care, meds, to name a few!
Are you ready for some self-care?
Come on in for a mooch around!
